A Glorious Birthday Weekend

This past weekend was one for the books. Since my birthday fell on a Monday and that's never fun, I made the most for the weekend to celebrate!!

Friday was lazy. We took Lucy for a walk, enjoyed a few beers, and feel asleep super early. Hey- that's what weekends are for, right??

Saturday was busy but oh so amazing. We started the day with a trip to the Fossil store where Doug bought me my birthday gift, that gorgeous watch right there. I love it! After shopping, I headed to get mani/pedis with some of my girl friends...and realized when I got home that I chose a manicure color that was exactly the same color as my house (I Have a Herring Problem was the name of the polish...and now what I'm going to tell people when they ask what color our house is).

Saturday evening, Doug and I headed downtown to go to the Indian's game. It was our first of the season and hopefully not the last! A little chilly, but it was a gorgeous night for baseball and we saw a win.

Sunday, we decided to meet up with friends and take our dogs for a walk at the metroparks near our house. Lucy did wonderful with their puppy (minus a little incident where their puppy literally fell on top of Lucy and she didn't like that so much...). After the walk, we sat around in the sunshine, drinking margaritas, playing cards and stuffing our faces with Thai food. Nom nom nom.

Of course my sombrero had to make an appearance.
Yesterday doesn't count as the weekend- but it was my birthday. I had to work- not so fun. But the evening was spent enjoying a few too many glasses of red wine, watching Game of Thrones, ordering in pizza so I didn't have to cook, puppy (and husband) snuggles, and bed by 9:30. Oh and chocolate chip cookies with milk. Because it's my birthday and I do what I want.
Had to use a mug for my milk...our other glasses don't work well for dipping.
I also wanted to thank everyone for your advice on my post last Friday. Lucy made some great strides this week with how she reacts to Doug. We spent all weekend together...and she did SO well with him! She even jumped up on the couch with him once and wouldn't stop licking his face. We definitely have a long way to go- she still kind of freaks out when I'm not around, but it's nice to see some progress!
