We are currently under contract on our first house! Woo! But I wanted to tell you the whole journey about how we got to where we are now. If you missed it- Part 1 // Part 2 // Part 3.
Where we last left off, we had fallen in love. But taking the advice of our realtor, we decided to make another appointment a few days later to see the house again. And this time we brought reinforcements. My brother and sister-in-law, my sister-in-laws's parents (my parents were snowed in so couldn't make it. Boo), our friends Dusting and Ashley who bought their house a few years ago, and Doug's co-worker Don who has lot's of remodeling experience.
Our awesome realtor didn't mind that we had a whole army tromping through on this last viewing, but we really wanted to have the piece of mind that we weren't being blinded by what we liked and ignoring things that could be issues further down the road.
But luckily- they all loved it too! After they all left, we were about 99% sure that we wanted to make an offer, but wanted to take one more night to talk it over and discuss what price we wanted to offer.
The following day, we were still feeling confident that this was the house. So we emailed our realtor to set up a meeting to finalize the paperwork and submit our official offer. We offered lower than the asking price, and also asked that the sellers cover the closing costs.
And then we waited....

I've loved writing these posts about our House Hunting Journey. Partially because it was such a whirlwind while it happened and I like to think back and remember it. But also because there are so many bloggers who are going through a similar situation right now! It's been amazing to have other ladies to talk to, which definitely helped.
This Friday, I will be posting a First Time Homebuyers Q&A Vlog and will be answering all of your questions! The best part though? You won't just get to hear my input on the topic- but you will also get to hear from Kate and Adam at The Florkens (who are currently battling the weather to close on their house this week) and Amber from Mr. Thomas and Me who closed on her home with her husband Jason in February (and are now knee deep in restorations). And my husband and I are on track to close on our home NEXT WEEK!
If you have any questions for Amber, Kate and me? Take a minute and send them over to me at ml281505@gmail.com or head on over to visit Amber and Kate and send them the questions. I'm so excited to share even more about our experience with all of you- and to hear Kate and Amber's input as well!
