Deck The Halls!

So when two of my favorite bloggers in all of blogland announced they were doing a Christmas linkup, I was kind of beyond excited. I love Christmas. I love Erin and Amber. So it was a no brainer to linkup as many days as I could!

I've previously wrote a post about the real tree vs. fake tree debate. I'm 100% on team real tree, but as I discussed in that post, we were going to have a fake tree this year. After Doug read that post and realized how unhappy I was about having a fake one, he said we could get the real one. But in all honesty, as much as I wanted one, it didn't make sense.

So we pulled up Bing Crosby Christmas music (nothing better), popped open a few beers (because that's how we do things in the Gautier household), and pulled out all our decorations. And as we started to put the tree up, hung the wreath I made last year back on the door, and laid out the Christmas table runner, I was just so happy. So content to be in the home I have made with my husband, getting ready to celebrate our second married Christmas.

Holy sappy. But it's true.

Plus, I really love how our apartment looks decorated for Christmas! And since it will likely be our last Christmas in this apartment, I'm embracing it as much as I can.

I'm actually in love with our tree this year, fake or not.
The Christmas place mats and table runner my mom made us last year.
Christmas wreath on our front door.
Mini Christmas tree, plus a few more decorations.

I also have to mention that I had quite the blog-tastic weekend. Friday night was the Happy Hour Hangout Original Crew secret Santa. A few hours of video chatting, drinking wine, opening gifts and laughing hysterically. I'm so happy that these women have come into my life and blessed to call them friends.

My awesome Christmas wine glass...and of course the best card ever. Thanks Meg :)
Saturday morning (after finally getting over the wine hangover...oops), I met up with some awesome Cleveland bloggers to wander around Ohio City and enjoy a few beers together. Huge thanks to Jess and Rachael for setting it up- and loved meeting them, as well as Ashliegh, Lisa, and Courtney. Though my morning slowness meant I arrived too late to meet Katie- so still need to make that happen soon!

The lovely Rachael and I- loved meeting her :)
