| Mr. Thomas & Me and Hooley with a Z |
One of my favorite traditions is how we spend Christmas morning. Whether or not we are at my parents house (which is how things used to be) or at my brothers (which is how things are now with my nieces), we spend Christmas morning together.
We open our stockings one by one. The normal things include scratch off lottery tickets and chapstick. Don't judge- I'm a chapstick addict, so I'm perfectly happy with this. We also have the yearly conversation about the lottery tickets- if you win, are you keeping your winnings or sharing with everyone who agrees to share. We've never won more than like $50- but we still have that conversation ever year.
Depending on how hungry we are, we'll move to opening presents or eating breakfast. Obviously, in the early years presents were a priority. And I assume presents will once again become the priority with an almost 3 year old.
Presents are opened one at a time. We ooh and aah over what every one else received. And we take our sweet time. But it's perfect and it's us. Normally a few mugs of hot chocolate (maybe this year with peppermint vodka...thanks Erin!) or coffee are consumed. And of course, always in our pajamas.
And then of course dough cakes- as I talked about yesterday. And mimosas. Lots and lots of mimosas.
Also- make sure to head over to The Empty Teacups to check out my guest post while Monica is in warm, sunny Mexico. But we won't hold that against her...even though I'm super jealous.
