Saying Yes

Saying yes. Doesn't seem like that hard of a thing to do. But the older I get, the more of a homebody I become. We're basically a super old married couple who would much rather sit on the couch. Don't get me wrong- we still love spending time with our friends and having a brew or 12. But nights out on the town? Or last minute trips without my husband? Normally the answer would be a big fat NO.

Amber has challenged us to say yes. So that's what I've done.

A few weeks ago, a friend asked me last minute if Doug and I would like to attend a hockey game. It was a Saturday night; we had already made plans to be excessively lazy. But we decided why not? And guess what- we had a blast.

Last week, Doug suggested I find someone to hang out with this weekend because he had a ridiculous work schedule all week and weekend. I asked my friend Ashley, but she was driving home to Chicago. So I did what any person would do and invited myself along. Nothing like saying yes to a last minute trip to one of my favorite cities!! Doesn't hurt that I get to road trip with one of my best friends and visit another friend who I don't see nearly enough. You should probably follow me on Instagram to follow along with the weekend craziness!

Excited to spend time with these ladies
And lastly, I'm a member of the Shop-Free with Mr. Thomas & Me Facebook page. While I haven't fully given up shopping, I have definitely been trying to cut back And the ladies in this group are great motivation. They also have been sending me free clothes! Say what?? Yep, we have all been cleaning out our closets- and instead of getting rid of them, we are sending them to other awesome ladies across the country! So far I have received a box of adorable clothes from Amber and Ashten- and I've passed along a few pieces from my closet. Including an Ohio State shirt to the wonderful Ashten...who has now declared war. BRING IT! and GO BUCKEYES!
