Hosting Thanksgiving

This is the first Thanksgiving I have ever hosted. We were invited to my parents house, as normal, but my dear husband is on call this weekend. Which means he can't go to the middle of nowhere with no internet to spend the weekend at my parents house. The struggles of having a husband who is an IT professional and parents who live in a place that doesn't believe in high speed internet. Seriously, they had dial up until a year ago when they finally decided to get a iPad with 3G instead.

On Thursday, we will have my parents, my mother-in-law (pending crappy weather. Woman after my own heart when it comes to driving in the snow), my brother-in-law, my grandma and uncle. With Doug and I, that is 8 of us. In our small apartment, with a 6 person table.

Besides how I'm supposed to fit that many people into my apartment...I'm not too concerned. My dad is actually cooking the turkey, so I'm too worried about that. Mashed potatoes? Piece of cake (though peeling that many potatoes...no fun). I'm also in charge of the stuffing, roasted brussel sprouts and one of the desserts. And wine. Obviously.

Kind of how I feel knowing I don't actually have to cook the turkey.
Basically this is a crap post about how excited I am to have a four day weekend. And to eat a ton of awesome food and drink lots of wine. And probably have a pretty good weekend all around.

But I will leave you with this gem from last year. If you haven't seen it WATCH IT RIGHT NOW.
