Feeling 21!

When the I Don't Know About You, But I'm Feelin' 22 21 linkup was first announced, I was pumped! I love reliving the college days...I don't know if that will ever stop. And my 21st was a blast!

Since I took a year off after high school, I was a year older than most of my college friends. Because of this, I was the first one to turn 21- more than a year earlier than most of the girls I lived with junior year which meant a ridiculous about of beer runs for me!

My birthday is Cinco de Mayo. Which alone, is pretty bad ass. My 21st fell on a Saturday and it was Mom's Weekend. Now don't think that means a boring weekend hanging out with moms. Oh no- more people get arrested on Mom's Weekend at Ohio University than Halloween. Mom's get rowdy.

Thankfully my mom was down for my birthday because none of my friends were old enough to go to the bar with me. Additionally, a lot of my brothers friends were celebrating their victory laps fifth year, so I had plenty of people to spend my evening with (and buy me lots of drinks).

Since my birthday was Saturday, we were waiting until midnight to go out and enjoy the bars of Court Street (oh Athens, take me back). Since it was Mom' Weekend, tons of moms and their kids were heading up town for dinner and drinking. We drew a hopscotch board in chalk on the sidewalk and proceeded to hassle every single person that walked past to hop scotch. Might sound lame...but after a few rounds of beer pong (in which my mom kicked ass) and a few side beers, it was hilarious.

Around 11:45, it was off to the bars for my first time (I was a good girl without a fake ID).

My brothers friends treating me to a few drinks on my first legal night out!
With my momma. Sidenote- my brothers friends convinced her to steal that glass for me as it was my first 'legal' drink! One of my friends who had a fake was able to celebrate with me (and sing a little Micahel Bolton I assume...)
We did a little bar hoping, but at one point, I realized I was overly drunk and just left without even saying goodbye to our group. Oops.

The next day, my mom went home. I took 19 trips to CVS and the beer store to buy alcohol for every. single. person. who lived on my floor. In the dorm. Yeah, I became popular real quick.

The nice thing about Mom's Weekend is that Athens bars will let kids in with their parents, so at least I was able to spend my actual birthday with some friends while at the bar before any of them were old enough to join me!

It wasn't a completely rowdy weekend. Definitely not the drunkest I have ever been. But it was a pretty solid weekend!
