I'm nearing almost 1 year of marriage; about a year and a half of living with Doug. And I truly love living with him. There are the perks like the fact that he kills big spiders for me or can reach things on the top shelf because I'm vertically challenged. But I also love that I have someone to come home to and always someone to hang out with in the evenings. And I've come to absolutely hate when he is out of town- I tend to sleep like crap if he isn't next to me.
However...there are some perks to being home alone every once in a while.
1. I don't close the door when using the bathroom. Yeah, maybe that's a little gross. But it's not like anyone else is in my apartment. And for some reason I feel like that extra few seconds is worth keeping the door open so I can get back to whatever trashy show I am watching.
2. Which obviously brings me to #2. Watching all the shows that Doug will likely make fun of me for. America's Next Top Model...I'm looking at you. And let me add- thank god all my favorite shows are finalllly coming back on. Even though I didn't watch Castle last night because I didn't want to be scared when home alone. I'm a baby.
3. Eating all the tomatoes in the world. If you read this lovely post written by my husband, you'll see he has a burning hatred of tomatoes. However, I love tomatoes. So nights when he is gone? BLTs (which is one of my favorite meals of all time), caprese salad, pasta with lots of tomatoes. Mmmm.
4. In order to not feel weird at night because I'm sleeping alone, I sleep in the middle of our bed. With both of our blankets on top of me. Oh and I pop two tylenol PM because then I sleep like a damn rock.
5. Wine. Oh wait...I drink a lot of that when he is home too. But I needed a #5 and that sounded good.
What are your single girl behaviors that you'll only do when home alone?
