Technology Hates Me

Technology and I are in a serious fight right now. I know, I know... #firstworldproblems. But come on?? Does everything have to break at once?

1. About a month ago, I went to put my laptop to sleep before I headed back to bed. I pushed the button the side, and the screen went blank, but then I realized it still hadn't fully gone to sleep. I tried to push the button a few more times to get it to either turn back on or turn off...and it started to beep at me. Not just a little beeping. But a loud, obnoxious, scary beep. So I immediately held the button until it completely shut off and had my IT employed husband look at it the next morning. Same thing. And so it has sat in the corner of our living room...quiet and sad. Basically because I have no idea what to do with it.

2. I have had a Kindle Fire for about two years. I kind of love loved it. Kind of a pain to type on- but it was awesome to keep up with Twitter, read books, play hours of mindless games (after my phone dies)- you know, that sort of thing. Last week, I was playing a random solitaire game when I realized that the side of the Kindle had completely split apart. Like the battery had expanded and popped the entire thing open and was pushing the screen off. What? Why does this happen to me!

Thankfully, after a few extensive chats with Amazon reps, a missing package and expedited shipping- I'm the proud new owner of a Kindle Fire HD 8.9. Which is pretty much awesome. And a lot bigger than my old one. And a lot cheaper than an iPad. Win win.

3.  My phone doesn't like to charge anymore. No idea why. I have to plug, unplug, switch outlets, switch chargers about 900 times before it will charge. Which only means I let the battery get under 10% a lot more frequently now.

Shape up technology. Stop being an asshole.
