Considering we all had Thursday off, we decided to start the weekend on Wednesday night. My friend Ashley came over and drink with the husband and I- which resulted in a cooler of beer/margs by the table, Uno, Dutch Blitz (if anyone else knows this game...I will love you forever), and of course Mario Kart and Super Mario World. Perfect.
Thursday morning was a little rough, but after lazing in bed for a few hours, we decided it was the perfect day to join our community pool! The pool is only 2 blocks from our apartment, and for $40, we have access to the pool and tennis courts all summer. Considering a day pass is $10, it was well worth it- as we've already gone twice. Plus we'll be more likely to go for an hour in the evening after work with the pass.

Perfect view for the rest of my summer |
Friday morning was another lazy one, but we did manage to both workout and do our laundry. So productive day in my books! That evening, we headed downtown for dinner and a show. Dinner at Hodge's - burger for the boy, mussels for me, with a leek and goat cheese tart on the side- and Book of Mormon at Playhouse Square!!
The day the Book of Mormon tickets went on sale, I was on the Playhouse Square website, refreshing it until I was able to buy tickets. We were in the top row of the theater (but right at the top of the stairs- so we didn't have anyone sitting in front of us), but it was an amazing show! Incredibly hilarious, completely rude, very well done. Overall- it was a great show and a great date night :)
Saturday was another relaxing/productive day. We worked out in the morning....my husband's influence on me! And then spent a few hours at the pool- where I promptly got sunburned because I forgot to put sunscreen on my face and poorly applied it to the rest of me. Dinner and drinks at Bar Louie equaled early to bed.
Sunday was pretty much a waste. I marathoned The Good Wife and did some work on my quilt until I ran out of thread and couldn't figure out how to replace it. For the evening, we headed to my brothers to grill out, play some cornhole and have some beers (common theme for the weekend I think...). And of course hang out with our adorable nieces.
