Always the Jake to me

As we head into the weekend, the weather in Cleveland is finally looking up. Today is supposed to have a high of 77, pretty much no humidity and barely a chance of rain in the 10 day forecast. After a solid two weeks with rain every day, this is pretty much the best news ever. Especially because we have NO plans set in stone (except a bridal shower tomorrow afternoon). Which means one thing....Jacob's Field is calling our name.

Yes, this gorgeous place. And I knowww it says Progressive Field...but it will always be the Jake to me, and pretty much everyone else in Cleveland.

For the first time since opening day, we're hoping to head downtown on Saturday to an Indian's game. For once, the Tribe is actually still doing well! They normally start the season off strong and then around the end of June, they take a giant shit on their season. Hoping this doesn't happen this year...as a Clevelander, I'm sick of the "There's always next year" crap.

Now, going downtown for an Indian's game doesn't just mean going to the game. It also means we start the evening at the Thirsty Parrot- which is a bar right around the corner from the field. It has a huge outdoor deck and is always packed before games. It's a great place to have a few drinks before going in to the game, and being forced to spend $10 for a tall beer (which we will bitch about...but still do).

Friend Dustin and I before a game a few years ago.
100% the drunkest I have ever been for an Indians game.
And yes- we switched shirts.
A different occasion at the Thirsty Parrot.
There was much less booze involved this time.
There is just something about baseball games though that get me. Cleveland comes alive before baseball games. There is an electric energy and downtown is seriously out of control. Everyone is happy, the sun is shining, it's just that summer feeling that I love oh so much.

I'm so excited to just be downtown tomorrow, watch my favorite team (hopefully win), FIREWORKS!! (tomorrow's are Jimmy Buffett themed), enjoy a number of adult beverages, and spend time with friends.

And as I rock out to my 90s channel on Spotify to get me through this Friday (which will thankfully be short)...it's time for a little #backthatazzup.
