A weekend of everything

This past weekend was one of those weekends with a little bit of everything going on. Nothing crazy (well maybe a little), just along weekend full of pretty calm shenanigans (does that even make sense? Oh well).

I started the weekend with a day off on Friday. Our fiscal year ends June 30, so I had to use the rest of my vacation days- and somehow still had 3 left! So was able to have three day weekends the last three weeks of June. I spent the day with my sister-in-law and super cute nieces. Nothing like baby snuggles and running wild with a crazy red head.

Can barely see the baby head to the right, but Caroline is cheesing hardcore
Friday night, we headed over to a co-worker of Doug's house for a birthday cookout. Which turned into a serious booze fest complete with teaching the birthday boy how to do somersaults/cartwheels/handstands, beer pong, flip cup and boom, and Cards Against Humanity.  Definitely the craziest part of my weekend, and we didn't get home until 1:30. Ya'll- I normally can't stay awake past 9pm, so this was impressive!

Learning cartwheels
Saturday morning was a little rough. I should not be playing flip cup and beer pong at 27. Just no. But I powered through and headed to the Shaker Farmer's Market with a friend. It's definitely an awesome market that I always forget about- but we got so many awesome things and it was so close!

Baby potatoes, asparagus, chipotle cheese, beef sticks,
homemade herb pasta, oyster mushrooms and basil.
Drooling.

The rest of the day was spent sleeping, catching up on Pretty Little Liars (still 2 episodes behind) and spending time at my brothers. Another night with a little too much wine and more Cards Against Humanity was perfect!

On Sunday, Doug and I did our weekly grocery shopping. My aunt got us a cookbook with recipes all revolving around things you can get at the farmers market- so the majority of our meals for this week will feature fresh veggies! Love this time of the year.

That afternoon, we headed to my aunt and uncles house for a family cookout to celebrate my cousin being in town for a few days. Her and her husband announced they were pregnant so it turned into even more of a celebration! After that, my mom came back to our place for the evening where we started on our quilt. She bought me a sewing machine for Christmas and we decided that our first project would be a quilt. I'm so excited to see how it turns out.

Pretty fabrics

Monday has been a little rough...it was a busy weekend. But only a three day week is pretty fantastic. Now if only Cleveland's weather would cooperate so we can do some pool time for the 4th and the rest of the weekend.
