Long weekend #2

For the second weekend in a row, I was able to enjoy a three day weekend. Which is awesome. What's not so awesome is that a good chunk of Friday and Sunday were spent in the car driving. And I really hate driving (or riding. Or just being in the car in general).

The husband and I, along with another couple, headed to the Chicago 'burbs for a couples bridal shower for our friends Ashley and Dustin.

We arrived Friday around 3, and spent the rest of the day eating delicious food, drinking beer, and playing games which included some pretty intense Taboo and Buzzword, as well as Cards Against Humanity- of course.

Saturday morning was spent shopping, followed by a lunch trip of Portillos (delicious). That evening was the couples shower with most of Ashley's friends from high school. I have been friends with Ashley since freshman year of college, so I've gotten to know quite a few of her friends from home and it was fun catching up with people.

Games, a campfire, tons of food and inappropriate conversation, and a keg all made for a fantastic Saturday evening. Though a really long and exhausting drive home. Which of course meant Chinese food and Harry Potter to end the day.

And now it's Monday...of a 5 day week. And after working only 3 days last week, I'm not so excited about it.
