Satire though it was, Randy Newman’s “Political Science” has lyrics relevant to recent events:We give them moneyAny objections?
But are they grateful?
No they’re spiteful
And they’re hateful.
They don’t respect us so let’s surprise them;
We’ll drop the big one and pulverize them.
To go all kooky for a moment, if I was some crazy war-loving Muslim fundamentalist I'd be doing my damndest to fuck things up before the election to boost the Mittster, who's more likely to go bananas and invade Syria and Libya and Iran and Egypt.
